Pilgrimage - Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple

This Madurai Meenakshi Amman temple has 985 musical pillars, each of which is meticulously carved. Furthermore, the thousand-pillared 'Mandapam' enhance the appeal and charm of this place. Above all, each pillar is carved from a single granite rock. Perfectly depicting the Tamil culture, the literature, art, music, and dance of this region; this temple is an ideal symbolism of the Southern India. Thirumalai Nayak Mahal
An Indo-Sarcenic architecture example, this beautiful Thirumalai Nayak Mahal was built in 1523 AD. The scenic beauty and ancient architecture of this mahal remains the same, except for the area it is outspread in. The entrance area of this Thirumalai Nayak Mahal, which was earlier beautified with attractive greenery and the defensive wall is now turfed out from the palace area. Main attractions of the palace are the lighting, the sparkling ambiance and sound shows, organized by the locales and based on the life of famous personalities-"Tirumalai Nayak" and "Silapathikaram".

Koodal Azhaar Temple
Amongst the ancient temples in Madurai, Koodal Azhagar Temple is the most popular worship place dedicated to Lord Vishnu. You will find distinct postures of Lord Vishnu - sitting, standing, reclining one over the other in this temple. Beautified with exclusive woodcarvings, including one of Lord Rama's coronations, temple environs are embracing in all aspects.

Azhagar Koil
A popular temple amidst the people from south, for conducting auspicious marriages, the gold image of Azhagar travels symbolizes the celestial image during the Chithirai Festival. The temple is located 8-km northeast of Madurai on a picturesque hilltop. It is believe to be the place of Lord Vishnu.

Pazhamudhirsolai

Thirupparankundram

Palani Murugan Temple

The Gandhi Museum
