Amman Temple

The
Sri Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple, a magnificently

Nayak Mahal, which was earlier beautified with
attractive greenery and the defensive wall is
now turfed out from the palace area. Main attractions
of the palace are the lighting, the sparkling

and based on the life of famous personalities-"Tirumalai
Nayak" and "Silapathikaram".
Koodal Azhaar Temple
Amongst the ancient temples in Madurai, Koodal
Azhagar Temple is the most popular worship place
dedicated to Lord Vishnu. You will find distinct
postures of Lord Vishnu - sitting, standing, reclining
one over the other in this temple. Beautified
with exclusive woodcarvings, including one of
Lord Rama's coronations, temple environs are embracing
in all aspects.
Azhagar Koil
A popular temple amidst the people from south,
for conducting auspicious marriages, the gold
image of Azhagar travels symbolizes the celestial
image during the Chithirai Festival. The temple
is located 8-km northeast of Madurai on a picturesque
hilltop. It is believe to be the place of Lord
Vishnu.
Pazhamudhirsolai
Believed to be one of the six abodes of Lord Subramanya,
the Pazhamudhirsolai Temple is built on the same
hills of Azhagar Koilthis.
Thirupparankundram
Considered to be the abode of Lord Sundareshwara,
this is a uniquely carved rock cut temple located
at a short distance of 8-km from the main city.
Palani Murugan Temple
Located at the hilltop-180m high above the sea

the abode of Lord Subramanyam. You can reach this

The Gandhi Museum
